Why Does My Circuit Breaker Keep Tripping With Nothing Plugged In?

A breaker that trips with nothing plugged in usually means a wiring or device fault on the circuit. Likely causes: shorted receptacle, loose connection, ground fault on GFCI/AFCI, failing breaker, or a hardwired load still on the line. Titus checks wiring, connections, and breakers (NEC 110.3). In Boulder, many repairs take 1–3 hours. We back work with a 1-year warranty.

  • Fully reset the breaker: OFF, then ON.
  • Press RESET on any GFCI outlets on that circuit.
