Why Does My GFCI Outlet Keep Tripping Randomly Without Load?

A GFCI can trip “with no load” due to moisture intrusion, a wiring fault, or a failing GFCI device. These issues are common in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, basements, and outdoor outlets. We inspect per NEC 210.8, test the device, and correct wiring/grounding as needed per NEC 250.24. Most replacements take 30–60 minutes per outlet, with typical costs of $150–$300 per outlet. Titus provides a 1-year warranty on repairs.

Quick checks:

  • Press the GFCI test and reset buttons (test monthly).
  • Let damp areas dry, then try reset.
  • If it won’t reset or trips again, schedule service.
